Dumbstagram — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 June 2026

Short version: Dumbstagram collects nothing, sends nothing, and tracks nothing. It stores a single on/off setting on your own device. That's the whole policy.

What data we collect

None. Dumbstagram does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information, browsing history, Instagram content, account details, or analytics.

What is stored on your device

Dumbstagram saves one value using Chrome's local storage API: whether the declutter toggle is on or off. This value never leaves your computer and is not associated with you in any way.

Network activity

Dumbstagram makes no network requests of its own. It does not contact any server, including ours — we don't operate one for this extension.

Third parties

No data is shared with, sold to, or transferred to any third party, because no data is collected in the first place.

Permissions

The extension requests only the storage permission, used solely to remember your toggle preference. It runs content scripts on instagram.com exclusively to hide page elements (Stories, Reels, Explore, ads, suggested posts, notifications) in your own browser.

Affiliation

Dumbstagram is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc.
